The world's advanced purchase of 905 million NT dollars to buy AUO Zhuke L3B factory



In order to expand production capacity, the foundry company World Advanced announced that it will purchase AUO as the L3B plant and related facilities in the Zhuke in Taiwan at a price of NT$905 million; after the completion of the acquisition, this will be the world's most advanced The five plants are expected to have a monthly production capacity of 40,000 pieces (8-inch wafers). AUO stated that the sale of the L3B plant is mainly for the activation of assets, and it is expected to dispose of a profit of NT$703 million.


It is understood that AUO’s L3B plant in Zhuke purchased an 8-inch wafer plant in 1999. After the acquisition, World Advanced will be able to start production after reorganizing its plant equipment and purchasing a few more. The monthly production capacity of the L3B plant is about 40,000 pieces, in order to meet the increasing medium and long-term production demand of customers. The delivery date is set to January 1, 2022.

In response to this transaction, AUO also stated that the sale of the Hsinchu Science Park L3B plant and ancillary equipment to the foundry is mainly for the activation of assets; the transaction amount is NT$905 million, and the estimated disposal benefit is NT$703 million. The Zhuke L3B plant has a building area of approximately 48,400 square meters (approximately 14,600 pings), of which the estimated value of the plant is about NT$789 million, and the estimated value of the plant's ancillary equipment is NT$113 million.
