Their 5nm process was put into mass production in the first quarter of this year, and the more advanced 3nm process is also available. The 5nm and 3nm processes will be the processes that TSMC can generate a lot of revenue in the next few years. According to foreign media reports, the main production capacity of these two processes will be in their wafers located in Tainan Science Park. In the factory, TSMC's production capacity in 2024 and 2025 will also be mainly concentrated in the Tainan Science Park.
TSMC currently has 3 wafer fabs in the Tainan Science Park, namely Fab 14, Fab 18 and Fab 6, of which the first two are 12-inch ultra-large fabs, and the latter is 8-inch. Fab.
Information from TSMC’s official website shows that Fab 18 is their main production base for 5nm process technology, which means that their 5nm process capacity is mainly concentrated in this fab.
In addition to the 5nm process, TSMC’s 3nm process technology factory will also be built in the Tainan Science Park. They announced the construction plan in 2016 with an investment of up to 19.5 billion U.S. dollars. The factory is close to the main production base of 5nm process technology. Eight factories.
